Description

The RYA First Aid Course offers a comprehensive one-day training course aimed at providing participants with essential first-aid knowledge.

This course is particularly tailored for individuals who operate small watercraft, whether on inland waters or at sea. It is equally suitable for dinghy sailors, windsurfers, motor boaters, and ocean sailors. The course would also suit other sports such as Triathlon Coaches, Kayak or Canoe Coaches operating in a Sheltered Water Environment.

This course aligns with the requirements for professional skippers of small commercial vessels, allowing them to operate within a 60-mile radius of a safe haven, which is classified as Category 2 according to both MGN280 and the Workboat Code edition 2. The course also covers the syllabus of the Health & Safety (First-aid) Regulations 1981 for the purposes of Emergency First Aid at Work.

Notably, the MCA, the HSE and World Sailing all officially recognise and endorse this course. Moreover, it fulfils the prerequisites for RYA Instructors and individuals holding RYA/MCA Certificates of Competence.
