Description
The RYA Powerboat Level 2 course (PB2) provides a hands-on introduction to powerboat handling and safety. This course includes boating techniques such as launching and recovering from a trailer, everyday handling, and safety equipment usage. We run the course on our versatile Humber Destroyer. A capable Rigid Inflatable Boat used globally, from Antarctica to the Equator.
This two-day Powerboating course is suitable for beginners. It fosters confidence to undertake day trips on their own and allows individuals to try out boating in a safe environment.
The RYA Powerboat Level 2 certificate allows you to apply for an International Certificate of Competence (ICC). This is recognised around the world and is a prerequisite to charter boats in some countries.
All our courses are run by MCA Commercially endorsed Skippers with at least 10 years of experience handling small craft. Our skippers all hold the RYA Powerboat Instructor Qualification.
- We also offer the RYA Powerboat Level 1 Course, a one-day course, ideal for those who want an introduction to Powerboating.
- All RYA courses are supplied by the RYA Registered Training Centre “Wavelength Training” at Carrickfergus Marina. Own boat tuition can be facilitated at other locations around Northern Ireland, but instructor availability may vary at other locations.
