Description
The Paddlesport Safety and Rescue Course will support you to explore and practice simple strategies and safe skills that provide you with the tools to solve common paddling issues in a sheltered water environment, providing peace of mind when venturing out onto the water.
Course Content:
The course will cover 6 modules:
- Clothing and Equipment
- Safety frameworks
- Contact and Towing rescues
- Self-rescues
- Deep water rescues
- Reflection and development
There will be opportunities to develop and progress your rescue skills with people on a range of craft during the course.
Pre-requisites:
Participants should have the Paddle Explore Award or equivalent skills. Participants should bring their own craft with them.
Venue:
We run the Paddlesport Safety and Rescue course both in North West England and also in Northern Ireland. The course is run on sheltered water.
What to bring:
Participants should bring their own craft and also be dressed for immersion as this is a very practical course, with lots of time spent practising rescuing different types of craft from your own craft. Should you not have suitable clothing, please contact us as we do have some hire kit available.
