If you own a boat, own boat tuition makes sense to learn with your regular crew on your own vessel. Whether you’re new to boating, want to master a different powerboat, or improve your overall skills.

We offer own boat tuition throughout the UK, with our main operating areas being Northern Ireland, Cumbria and the Islands of Scotland.

Own Boat Tuition – RIB

We have found our own boat tuition invaluable to many boat owners who want to,

  • Understand specific handling characteristics
  • Learn how to handle a larger or unfamiliar RIBS or motor cruisers
  • Handle a boat shorthanded or with the people you normally go afloat with
  • Familiarise themselves with new surroundings or marina
  • Learn how to work onboard together as a couple or family
  • Avoid trying to teach their own family
  • Understand onboard systems and be guided on levels of maintenance

We offer informal single-day instruction on any topic that you wish to focus on, alternatively, we run a range of RYA Practical courses.

Training on your own boat provides flexibility, allowing you to tailor the course to your preferences without worrying about other students. This can result in a more intensive or relaxed experience, depending on your goals, even when combining it with a family holiday.

Our instructors are very flexible and can provide intense instruction on specific topics or even just offer moral support as you build your confidence.

Cost of Own Boat Tuition

Our daily rate for tuition is £350 for up to 3 students. Additional passengers may be accommodated upon request. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.
