Nearly all cruising boats are now equipped with radar. According to the International Regulations for the Prevention of Collisions at Sea (IRPCS), it’s generally expected that if you have radar, you should be proficient in its use.
The course is conducted in our classroom using our Radar simulators. Additionally, we can arrange to deliver this course on board your boat if needed. Please reach out to us for further details.
To summarise, the RYA Radar Course will provide you with a solid understanding of radar functionality and usage.

Our Radar courses are conducted with a maximum of 2 people per Radar simulator, ensuring you receive ample hands-on experience with the units. The RYA Radar course is run at Carrickfergus Marina. All certification is issued by the RYA Recognised Training Centre “Wavelength Training”.
