Launch
An easy day today and we could have launched conventionally-but if the water ON the slip is rough then this is our answer!
Even on this day it saves possible gel coat damage from the slip-and we don't get the bearings, the car, (or our feet!) wet.
Recover
At times this can be a tough slip requiring tough solutions. Today it is a " pussycat ".But even on this day retrieving over the side keeps the boat away from those bollards lurking under the surface.
Drive into the jaws of the trailer Attach the winch strap
and be ready to get out of the way Bit more power needed now
and a bit more - whilst I winch on Finish winching & attach safety chain
Job nearly finished. Just winch up snug now. Always put a secondary securing clip onto the boat's bow eye before driving away - boats have been known to fall back off these multi roller trailers when the winch strap has failed on the way up the slipway !!!
This is a local answer to a local problem - strong tides can put a standing wave on the slip meaning this is the only way to recover the boat.
